No one likes rain at outdoor sporting events. But if the races rain out before the completion of the heat races, hold on to your ticket stub, as it will be valid for the next scheduled race of same ticket price value (in other words, if tickets that night were $15, the next event you will have a $15 credit when you redeem your ticket stub from the previous event). The exact same procedure will be in effect regarding pit passes. If the races rain out after the heat races, the event is considered complete, and any remaining races will not be rescheduled and all drivers will receive start money for their scheduled division that night (for any of the feature events that rained out). Another Great Field of Texas Sprint Series Teams Set for Monarch Spring Nationals – Friday May 22nd, 8pm! Wichita Falls, TX (5/17/20) by DarinShort.com. The RaceSaver IMCA sanctioned Texas Sprint Series (TSS) season opened with a series record car count at the Tony Hernandez Memorial at Kennedale Speedway Park on Saturday, March 7th with 18-year-old Casey Burkham taking the winner’s prize back to his Combine, Texas hometown. Then we all entered a dark era of world history. The Series, along with nearly everything else sat idle for two months. But now it’s time for the TSS series engines to fire back up this coming Friday May 22nd with the running of the Monarch Spring Nationals at Monarch Motor Speedway (MMS) located on the western edge of Wichita Falls, Texas. Joining the TSS will be a full racing program for the USRA Modifieds, Factory Stocks, Limited Modifieds and Tuners; plus the MMS Mini-Stocks. The first green flag is set to wave this Friday at 8pm. TSS Drivers – make sure you’ve read all the information under the Drivers/Rules link at www.raceTSS.com – which will make your evening more enjoyable. Mandatory pre-entry for the sprint cars closes on Wednesday night at the same link. The draw-cutoff/drivers meeting is slated for 6:45pm, with hot laps at 7:30pm and racing at 8pm. POSTED 5/24/20 9AM: MONARCH RACING FANS & TEAMS: *TONIGHT'S 5/24 Elite Non- Wing Sprint Car Series and USRA Racing program is CANCELLED due to wet grounds and inclement weather. Rain once again is forecast for our area right at hot laps and then ramping up through the evening. As much as we hate it, once again, we have to cancel. If you weren't here on Friday night for 'round 1' and 'round 2' of the huge storms, check out this video clip: https://youtu.be/gvPxN1gjXJ0 This video was 'round 2' where a small little cell exploded into a giant red blob that camped out right over the track - and with 156 race cars in the pits - it really made for an epic bummer. We think a tornado passed through the south side of the property during 'round 1' as the new stands from the adjoining drag strip were blown over and our new overhead welcome sign was also blown over. But track crews were able to get the surface whipped into shape and after an hour rain delay, hot laps were underway when 'round 2' blew up over the track. Ugh. Well, this is an outdoor event venue and we'll just keep moving forward. Up next on the Monarch Motor Speedway schedule is the Friday, May 29th Sooner Late Model Series along with the USRA Modifieds, Limited Modifieds, Factory Stocks, Tuners; plus IMCA Stock Cars. Racing at 8pm. Until then, have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day holiday with your family and thank you to all that serve, and have served, our country. |

Next Up at Monarch Motor Speedway: $2,500 Possible to Win Sprint Car Bandits FALLS TOWN SPRINT SHOWDOWN SAT. OCT. 10th! >Facebook shrinks pics, for a full-size view of the flyer, please click here: https://www.sprintcarbandit.com/101020.html :) Wichita Falls, TX (9/23/20) by DarinShort.com. Fans and race teams that have visited the new Monarch Motor Speedway (west side of Wichita Falls) know that it features incredible dirt track racing with state-of-the-art facilities. And for the second time this season, a blockbuster event is taking place at the ¼ mile ultra-fast speed plant featuring many of the best dirt track racers in the region with the running of the Sprint Car Bandits® (SCB) “FALLS TOWN SPRINT SHOWDOWN” 360C.I. Shootout, paying $2,000 to win and $300/start on Saturday, October 10th at 7pm. Joining the 360C.I. winged sprint cars will be the popular USRA Tuners, the NOW600 TOWR Micro Series and the Mod 600’s. Note that the Sprint Cars will be racing 1st or 2nd division out for the feature events. :30 Second Rewind from the May 9th SCB Monarch event: 12th place starter John Carney II coming from 12th to take the lead the middle half of the race, while Channin Tankersley snuck by on a quickly transitioning surface on lap 21 to grab his 2nd career Sprint Car Bandits series feature event and $2,100 - topping a field of 39 other competitors. Kyle McCutcheon would become the West Texas Raceway sponsored Hard Charger recipient, coming from 15th to 2nd and collecting $1,300. Colorado's Jake Bubak Racing would finish 3rd with John Carney in 4th and Michael Day finishing 5th after starting 9th. I think it’s also worth a :30 Second Rewind of the 2019 SCB Monarch event as well: An unforgettable night of wild in-your-face action would take place after overnight storms made for a total slurp-fest on the racing surface with elbows-up high speed drama taking place in every division all night long. The SCB feature event saw Will Eggimann (2019 SCB series champion) wrestle the lead away from John Carney II and Tim Crawley. Eggimann would lead til the 2- to-go flags were waved when a lapped car got crossed up and started flipping in front of the lead pack, resulting in Eggimann’s top wing being torn off the car. During the red, with just two laps to go, Eggimann and team decided it was not a safe idea to restart the event sans top wing leading the field…so he went pit-side and John Carney II would take home the $2,000 winners prize, with Harli White driving the wheels off her #17w sprinter coming from 21st to 2nd after a first-lap skirmish. BACK TO 10/10/20: Tommy Bryant of Cabinets By Tommy LLC in Granbury Texas has stepped up to provide the 360C.I. Sprint Car Bandits® drivers three exciting bonuses for this event with the Cabinets by Tommy LLC $500 Dash For Cash, $200 Hard Charger Award and $100 to the 9th place driver on the 9th lap of the A-feature! Here’s how the Cabinets by Tommy LLC $500 Dash For Cash will work at Monarch Motor Speedway on Saturday, October 10th: - All SCB teams will draw in and qualify in their heat races as normal, with normal series passing points. - At the conclusion of the heat races, the top 2 finishers from each heat race will advance to the Cabinets by Tommy LLC $500 Dash For Cash. - The Dash will be lined up by draw, and the winner will take home an additional $500 from Cabinets by Tommy LLC! More about the sponsor, Cabinets by Tommy LLC. Tommy Bryant is the company head, which is based out of Granbury Texas (southwest of Ft. Worth). Many of you know his daughter through sprint car racing, which is Britney Bryant that drove the beautiful number 99b car at select Sprint Car Bandits events in the past – and is now piloted by John Ricketts with a 360C.I. engine under the hood. The SCB series has a unique rules package that allows teams to use their current equipment (especially in the engine compartment) yet curbing nightly tire expense...which helps equalize the competition with teams of varying budget sizes. The SCB “20° wing angle rule” also helps by freeing up the cars to be able to pass easier in many cases that also helps reduce excess tire and engine wear. Our ‘one rear tire all night long’ rule has not only saved racers thousands of dollars over the past four years, but to date, we’ve yet to have one tire fail (blow) due to excess tire wear in any feature race we’ve held. All these small, yet effective changes, have been accomplished without the racers having to purchase something out of the ordinary. And we essentially haven’t changed the rules since the inception of the series at the end of 2015. And let’s face it, since the events of 9/11/2001 – and now as of late, a lot of the economics of the sport of dirt track racing have changed drastically (especially the cost of travel, track insurance, general crowd sizes, cost of racing components), yet there really hasn’t been much being done on a nationwide level to help counteract those economic impacts. We aren’t trying to say we’ve ‘fixed’ all those impacts, but at least we are doing something to help curb racer expenses – and it’s working. Our rules package certainly has made for exciting and unpredictable racing outcomes – as there have been 23 different feature winners in the past 37 series events! Click www.SprintCarBandits.com for the latest in series news SCB tour is headed to next. You can also reach the SCB on Facebook @SprintCarBandits. If your business is interested in getting involved with the SCB series, please email SprintCarBandits@Outlook.com for more information. There are effective programs available for all sizes of budgets. We look forward to seeing you Saturday, October 10th when the Sprint Car Bandits 360C.I. “FALLS TOWN SPRINT SHOWDOWN” invades Monarch Motor Speedway in Wichita Falls with high-powered winged Sprint Cars battling on the racy 1/4 mile speed plant, paired three more exciting racing divisions! |
11/1/20 THANK YOU to the 145 race teams who traveled from near and far, the race fans, track workers, safety crew, those who brought candy for Trick-R-Meet and the sponsors that supported Saturday night’s season-ending event at Monarch Motor Speedway. It takes every single one of us to make a racetrack work – no matter where you reside on the list above. As new owners of the track in 2019, we knew it was going to be a lot of work to restore faith with fans and racing teams when we reopened the speedway. And with each event since, we strive to continue to build upon our processes and offerings to the racing community. Our goal in 2021 remains one in the same: to provide the Wichita Falls and surrounding region with quality family-affordable events all season long. We’ve already built about ½ of the 2021 schedule – featuring lots and lots of special events. We’ll continue to work on it, and it will come out sometime during the upcoming Holiday season. On the behalf of the Kelton family and staff of Monarch Motor Speedway, we’d like to wish you all a great upcoming Holiday Season and a Merry Christmas…and race season will be here again before we all know it – and we can’t wait to see you all back in 2021! We'll leave you with this video of intermission last night when we invited KIDS of ALL AGES to Get Their Chance to See RaceCars Up Close - and Trick-R-Treat at Monarch Motor Speedway 10/31/20! Lots of smiling faces. Thanks once again to everyone who donated candy and candy bags for the kids! |
